The Global Esports Games (GEG) is the annual flagship event of the Global Esports Federation, contested by athletes from Member Federations. The games are hosted in December of each year. In recent years, the games have been held in Singapore (2021), Istanbul (2022), Riyadh (2023) and will be held in China (2024), the United Arab Emirates (2025) and the USA (2026). More details regarding this year's event, the titles involved, and the qualification process will be announced soon.
The International Esports Federation (IESF) announced the line-up of competitive titles that will be part of its World Esports Championship 2024 event (WEC24) taking place Nov 11 – 19 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The WEC24 will feature competitions in Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, the eFootball series, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and PUBG Mobile. This year the tournament features seven competitions across these five titles, which includes women’s competitions in Counter-Strike 2 and the newly introduced MLBB league for women, MLBB Women.
The Riyadh 2023 Global Esports Games drew to a thrilling close, marking the end of a spectacular showcase of talent, and global unity. With five Gold medals awarded and a resounding sense of camaraderie, the event served as a testament to the unifying power of esports and the Global Esports Federation’s #worldconnected spirit.
In his closing ceremony speech, Paul J. Foster, GEF CEO, expressed gratitude to the athletes, gamers, and the entire #worldconnected gaming community. “You are now part of our proud history and your own limitless future,” he remarked. Paul extended gratitude to the global esports community united.
